Corners and Skies.
2015, 24 x 24, acrylic and vinyl on hardboard, and walnut frame.
Observing indoor architectural corners made me think about the air and space in-between those walls, ceiling and floor. I imagined the air being connected to other airs contained in other possible rooms in the building, to the sky outside, to outer space and to infinity.
The English word "corner", in Spanish, means both "esquina (street corner), and "rincón" (architectural corner). This inspired me to create images that contained both architectural corners found around my house and street corners found on google maps of the neighborhood I was at the time.
